I'd like to lose 30 pounds. I could stand to lose dang near 40–50, which would get me back to around my high school weight and the weight considered "normal" for my height.
A couple of years ago, I tried running, almost daily, using the app Couch to 5K, but found it frustrating because of just how low my endurance is, after nearly four decades of living a non-fit lifestyle due to a complete lack of confidence in it (thanks, acute asthma).
I realize that exercise, especially to lose an entire kindergartner's worth of weight, is going to take a lot of effort, but are there any good exercises that won't make it feel like my throat is collapsing?
I also managed to give up the vast majority of pop and all caffeine, replacing it with mostly water or less commonly Sprite (preferably Sprite Zero). Still, once I gave up pop, I started gaining weight (around ten pounds so far). Frustrating!

Yep. I've been doing that off and on for awhile. With the right eating habits and lifestyle, it does what it says it does.
(Thanks! Seen a post from you at phpBB and got to thinking...hmmmmmm)

I was racking my brain trying to think how you ended up here again! Yeah, I pop into phpbb.com on rare occasions, and more rarely do I post but I'm glad I did. I was sitting here like "maybe he just checks the URL on occasion, hoping for the site to come back?" LOL
But here it is!
I'll check out the yoga thing. What sorta success have you had with it?

Better flexibility. A bit more strength and endurance. You use dynamic resistance instead of weights to do things...You get your heart rate up standing still basically. Or sitting...or laying...They have workouts for people that cannot get out of bed up to those that can do anything.
